Scott began his career in the construction industry, completing his City & Guilds apprenticeship in carpentry & joinery at the Sheffield College.
Specialising in shopfitting, Scott collaborated with leading organisations, including Lloyds Banking Group, Network Rail, Starbucks, and Green King Brewery.
Progressing in his career, Scott took on roles in site & project management, overseeing timescales, budgets, and day-to-day operations.
Scott then worked in the health and safety sector, using spectroscopic techniques to analyse anaesthetic gas levels within NHS operating theatres. His analyses informed workplace exposure limit reports, ensuring compliance with COSHH guidance.
Later on, Scott returned to carpentry & joinery, setting up a business centred on bespoke furniture. He also launched an e-commerce platform exclusively selling handmade products.
Scott is part of the Senior Management team at STEPS, in addition to his role as Head of Facilities. He is a proud member of the Institute of Workplace & Facilities Management (IWFM) and has successfully completed his Level 3 Diploma in Facilities Management.
Outside of work, Scott enjoys spending time with his young family. Whether that’s weekend walks in the Peak District, pool side at swimming lessons or pitch side at football training – anything to tire the kids out!
