Many of our clients are referred to us by legal teams and insurers, and our expertise in this field led to us winning ‘Rehabilitation Provider of the Year’ at the 2018 and 2019 Personal Injury Awards.

Collaboration

Our ethos of taking a holistic approach to the care of a person extends to having an understanding and appreciation of their legal case. We encourage and support a collaborative way of working between us, Claimant lawyers and Defendant lawyers/Insurers – embracing open communication and transparency to secure the very best results for clients. We allow all parties on the case access to inter-disciplinary team (ITD) meetings, as well as the lead clinicians.

Expertise

The medical and rehabilitation needs of a seriously injured client can be complex and wide ranging. All aspects of the rehabilitation needs of an individual are carefully assessed and managed by medical and therapy experts working across a range of specialisms. We have specific expertise in caring for residential and day clients who have suffered spinal cord injuries, traumatic amputations, traumatic brain injuries and orthopaedic trauma injuries.

We are the only residential rehabilitation centre for amputees in the UK – working closely with STEPS Prosthetics and often dealing with insurers directly – to provide full amputee care from casting of the first prosthetic limb to fitting and subsequent rehabilitation programme.

Clinical staff and therapists

STEPS Rehabilitation is one of only a very small number of rehabilitation facilities who treat clients with complex injuries under one roof rather than clients being required to attend multiple centres to treat different aspects of their condition. Because all the medical professionals and therapists can collaborate more easily to deliver the very best rehabilitation programme possible, this in turn means that clients are better engaged in the whole process which helps achieve optimum results.
