STEPS Rehabilitation is one of the only private clinics in the UK to offer a residential amputee and orthotic rehabilitation service all under one roof, delivered in partnership with STEPS Prosthetics.

Enhancing Clinical Outcomes Through Tailored Rehabilitation

Clients’ clinical outcomes can be greatly improved when combined with a tailored programme of rehabilitation, aimed to return clients as near as possible to their pre-injury level of independence. With an onsite workshop and specialist prosthetic manufacturing facility, located less than a mile away, clients benefit from the swift provision of their prosthetic and orthotic device alongside daily therapy sessions including physiotherapy, hydrotherapy, psychology, pain management, occupational therapy, and expert nursing care.

Comprehensive Interdisciplinary Team

Our interdisciplinary team (IDT) comprises consultants in rehabilitation medicine, spinal injuries, plastic surgery, and pain management, along with prosthetic and orthotic specialists, neuropsychologists, psychiatrists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, neurologic music therapists, and nurses experienced in complex care.

Collaboratively, our team combines expertise to deliver a holistic rehabilitation service for clients who have suffered traumatic amputations and complex polytrauma injuries.

Interdisciplinary Treatment Approach

With a comprehensive IDT, each client undergoes a comprehensive assessment to design an individualised treatment plan and rehabilitation programme. Whether clients are starting their rehabilitation journey or aiming to enhance their general fitness, well-being, or mobility level, our team provides collaborative and individualised care throughout their stay. Fine-tuning of prosthetic or orthotic devices ensures minimal disruption to the programme, prioritising optimal comfort and satisfaction.
