Dale joined the STEPS team in July 2022 as part of the Reception/Admin team. He came to Sheffield in 2014 to study at Sheffield Hallam University after growing up in the village of Moorends in Doncaster.
Dale grew up with a passion for theatre, spending many of his younger years on stage. Some of his theatre credits include: Blood Brothers (three times!), Animal Farm, The Breakfast Club, Spring Awakening and After the End. Dale’s dream role would be to play Sweeney Todd in the Demon Barber of Fleet Street.
Following graduating from university in 2017, Dale worked in retail, but also pursued a career as an independent actor in theatre and film, appearing in indie flicks such as 45 Minutes, 2.2.19, The Blogger, and the Royal Television Award winning Mater Mortem. He hopes to return to acting again in the future.
During the Covid 19 pandemic, Dale took an interest in digital marketing and print media, and undertook a masters in Multimedia Journalism at Sheffield Hallam University, graduting two years later with a first class degree and becoming a 2x Hallam Award winner.
In March 2023, Dale became the Marketing and Communications Assistant at STEPS, working alongside the directors and Scala, assisting with digital media, marketing and branding.
Some of Dale’s favourites include: the Eurovision Song Contest, Netflix’s Heartstopper, the autumn season, Carly Rae Jepsen and anything Halloween-related. Fun fact: Dale has worked with Richard E. Grant and Jodie Whittaker.
