Client Events & Activities Co-ordinator
22.5 hours per week
This is an exciting opportunity to join the STEPS team to plan, organise and facilitate daytime, evening and weekend activities and events for STEPS residential clients. This role requires you to be a driver and be able to drive the two wheelchair accessible vehicles, and to be available to work alternate weekends and regular evenings.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan, organise and implement a range of activities for clients who have a variety of musculoskeletal, neurological, traumatic injuries and other complex conditions. This will include, group activities, social events, community outings and evening events for clients reflective of their interests.
- Driving clients to and from events and activities in the STEPS vehicles.
- To communicate with the wider team to coordinate events and activities to ensure the safety of clients throughout.
- To arrange entertainment and events within an agreed budget
- Identify any additional support needs required for undertaking activities and groups
- To adapt approach to meet individual client circumstances, including cultural, social, and linguistic differences in addition to their cognitive and physical disabilities
- To maintain accurate and contemporaneous documentation according to STEPS standards including clinical notes and reports
- To adhere to and support individual client risk assessments with the support of the treating team
- To apply manual handling principles as outlined by legislation and department procedures
- To escalate issues as required following STEPS guidance and operating procedures
- To be compliant with the clinical governance requirements operating within STEPS procedures
- To carry out tasks required to maintain safety, cleanliness and tidiness of all areas
- To collect regular feedback from clients and take appropriate action
- To participate in training and development activities that are relevant to the job role
- Flexible working hours to accommodate activities, events and interventions which includes working weekends and evenings.

COMMUNICATIONS:
- To effectively communicate using a variety of styles that demonstrates the values and behaviours of STEPS.

- To develop effective relationships with clients, carers, the STEPS team suppliers and others as from time to time may be required.
- To maintain accurate and detailed records of all interventions using the electronic notes system and other specified systems as applicable.
PEOPLE and ORGANISATIONAL DEVELOPMENT
To have shared responsibility with other members of the events team, Rehabilitation Assistants and Team Heads to plan and facilitate groups, outings and activities/events.
