Following an accident resulting in complex trauma injuries a period of residential rehabilitation is usually recommended in a community based facility. This is at the point when you are medically stable and able to engage in a rehabilitation programme.
At STEPS we provide residential rehabilitation programmes for clients with poly trauma injuries. We can admit clients while they still have a tracheostomy and or PEG feeding tube. We aren't able to treat clients who have an NG tube or who are ventilated or on an IV drip.
We have a full interdisciplinary team and provide a full range of therapies for rehabilitation following complex trauma injuries such as physiotherapy, occupational therapy, neurologic music therapy and hydrotherapy.
