Having done one weeks work experience in a kitchen during his school years, Dave knew this was the career path he wanted to take. Dave completed a 3 year chefs diploma and worked in a local country pub near to home at the same time, he then left to start work in a fine dining Italian restaurant in Chesterfield, having gained different and extra knowledge he then moved on to a 4 star hotel learning a different side to the culinary industry. His work ranged from large banquets to helping develop dishes. Before joining the STEPS team my last job was working in an award winning gastro pub called the Tickled Trout where he was quickly promoted to Sous Chef. His role allowed him to help develop menus and dishes and subsequently winning the 2017 young chef of the year for Westside magazine and a year later helping them do a cooking demonstration at the same competition! Dave joined STEPS at the end of 2017.
When not at work Dave likes walking in the peaks, watching Sheffield Wednesday and playing 5 a side football, going for a steady morning run, a good crime thriller book and of course cooking up beautiful new recipes at home for my housemates.
Dave’s favourite place is Barcelona, and has now visited 5 times!
