Donna joined the STEPS team in 2017. Before this, she spent 7 years working in a support capacity for people with learning disabilities which led to her current specialism. She is a registered nurse specialising in learning disabilities, working within this field for 10 years. She is dual qualified alongside this, meaning that she is also a qualified social worker.
She has a vast experience in creating accessible access for people with learning disabilities and autism and has been involved in national health training projects and collaborated with service improvement programme LeDeR to create accessible documentation and reports.
Donna most enjoys the person-centred aspect of client care and wellbeing, creating personalised client support to aid achievement and maintenance of goals-important to act as an advocate for those we support.
