Jamie is an experienced Physiotherapist and the Lead Physiotherapist at STEPS, specialising in complex neurological rehabilitation.

He graduated from Coventry University in 2013 with a degree in Physiotherapy before returning to his hometown of Rotherham to begin his career. Jamie first worked as a care assistant within a specialist care organisation in Sheffield, later progressing into a Physiotherapist role within the same company. During this time, he led a small physiotherapy department and supported multiple care homes across the UK, gaining extensive experience in both cardiorespiratory and neurological care.

Jamie joined STEPS on 21 January 2019 and has since advanced into the position of Lead Physiotherapist. He has worked with a broad range of clients, including individuals with spinal cord injuries, amputations, acquired brain injuries, prolonged disorders of consciousness (PDOC), complex physical disabilities, tracheostomy care needs, neurodegenerative conditions, and mental health disorders. He has a particular clinical interest in spinal cord injury rehabilitation. Jamie is tracheostomy trained, a qualified moving and handling trainer, and a trained botulinum toxin injector, supporting spasticity management within neurological populations.

At STEPS, Jamie continues to expand his expertise in advanced neurological rehabilitation. He is trained in the use of rehabilitation exoskeletons and acts as an assessor for their clinical application. He is also skilled in assessing and delivering FES interventions, including systems such as Bioness and Stell Bio. Jamie has represented STEPS at national and international conferences, including delivering specialist workshops.

Alongside his clinical work, Jamie has developed strong leadership capabilities, guiding a large physiotherapy team and contributing to interdisciplinary practice across STEPS. He is a proactive problem solver who consistently seeks opportunities to enhance both his own practice and the wider service.
