Katy qualified as a physiotherapist from Keele University in 2007 and began specialising in Neurology in 2010. Working in a large teaching hospital in Derby, Katy developed her skills working with a variety of neurological conditions before specialising in her work on the stroke units. After a successful spell as physio lead on the acute stroke unit, Katy left Derby to expand her knowledge base by working as a Locum in a variety of settings for a year. During this time, she worked in intensive care, the community and outpatient settings. Katy has completed the 3 week Basic Bobath Course (specialist techniques in Neurology), has attended further weekend courses in Bobath techniques and is an active member of ACPIN, the specialist interest group for physiotherapists in Neurology.

Following a long planned for gap year in 2017, Katy returned to physio and took up a post as Therapy Lead in a private neuro rehab setting in Nottingham. As part of this role Katy was part of the assessing team for the unit, travelling to meet potential clients and carrying out comprehensive assessments before supporting them through the admission process.

Having recently welcomed her first child into the world, Katy is excited to be working in her home town of Sheffield in a job that she is passionate about.

When not at work; Katy enjoys running, rock climbing and trips away with her family in their yellow camper-van.
