Since 2003 Lisa has worked with both adults and children who have learning disabilities and mental health needs. She qualified as an RNLD at Greenwich University in 2007. During this time Lisa has had experience working with learning disabilities, mental health illnesses, autism and challenging behaviour.

Lisa began her career working for Millbury Care Services (later changed to Voyage Care Services) where she worked with clients ranging from mild to profound learning disabilities and mental health illnesses. In 2009 Lisa changed career direction and began working in low secure forensic hospital for males with personality disorders, mental health illnesses and learning disabilities and autism.

At the end of 2010 she relocated back to Yorkshire and worked in a male only medium secure forensic hospital for almost 7 years. Here she was promoted to a senior staff nurse working with males with personality disorders, learning disabilities, mental health illnesses and brain injuries (causing aggressive behaviours) and aggressive challenging behaviour. Mid 2017 she left forensic services and began working in a specialist unit for people physical disabilities, learning disabilities, Huntington’s disease, brain injuries, mental health illnesses and challenging behaviours. Lisa came to STEPS to expand her knowledge and skills in neurological rehabilitation.

When not at work: Lisa loves spending time up in the hills walking and hiking with friends
