We are delighted to share that we have been invited to deliver a workshop at RehabWeek 2023. Based in Singapore this year from 24th-28th September, RehabWeek brings together internationally renowned speakers from clinical neurosciences and rehabilitation technology. Different organisations in the rehabilitation technology industry, will come together to share expertise in Neurorehabilitation, which includes physicians, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, rehabilitation engineers, neuroscientists, and many other professions.
The week promotes cross-disciplinary communication and relationships and provides a platform to share our work with rehabilitation professionals from around the world.
RehabWeek 2023 will cover how the industry can overcome the challenges and make the most of the opportunities in rehabilitation in the post-pandemic era.
STEPS Rehabilitation at RehabWeek
STEPS Rehabilitation will be delivering a workshop on Sunday 24th September titled ‘How Advancing Technologies Complement Clinical Practice in Specialist Residential Rehabilitation; An Exploration of Practical Application and Protocol Development.’
STEPS has had the ability to test and develop usage protocols for a variety of advancing technologies, making recommendations based on the evidence from different client groups, e.g. polytrauma including Traumatic Brain Injury, Spinal Cord Injury and traumatic amputation. This workshop will be an opportunity to discuss the factors that need to be considered when developing a protocol, explore the protocols already being used and their suitability at varying stages of rehabilitation.
Attendees to this workshop will be broken up into small groups and have the opportunity to experience a variety of technology such as exoskeletons (lower and upper limb) and VR technology.
The workshop will finish with a whole group interactive discussion exploring how these different protocols can be used in combination with a client’s ongoing therapy program.
Speakers at this workshop include Toria Chan, (Founder and Clinical Director), Kostas Falidas (Senior Physiotherapist), Lucy Greensmith (Specialist Rehabilitation Occupational Therapist) and Colette Shaw (Founder and Prosthetist at STEPS Prosthetics)
