Next month, STEPS will be in Vancouver, Canada presenting at the 13th World Congress for Neurorehabilitation.

Prior to Christmas we submitted three abstracts to the World Federation of Neurorehabilitation (WFNR) and were thrilled to learn that all three were accepted. Amy Hartley, our Research & Development therapist played a crucial role in supporting the team throughout the preparation and submission process.

Two abstracts have received approval for poster presentations; each showcasing the inspirational work that Jess Sheppy, our Solution Focussed Hypnotherapist has achieved with our clients. The first abstract is about acuhypno, a new therapeutic treatment technique being developed at STEPS in conjunction with Jazmin Warden our acupuncturist. The second abstract focuses on memory recovery work with a client following post traumatic retrograde amnesia.

The third abstract has been accepted for an oral presentation to be delivered by Annie Forde, Senior Speech and Language Therapist, and Rebekah Keenan Neurologic Music Therapist and Head of Psychological Therapies. This presentation will focus on the development of a multi-sensory group for treatment of individuals with prolonged disorder of consciousness - a case study.

The WFNR will be held in Vancouver between 22nd - 25th May 2024. You can keep up to date with our trip by following our social media accounts:
