We are delighted to announce the opening of our newly refurbished clinic room at STEPS Rehabilitation. This space, which was previously used as an on-site hairdressing and beauty salon, has been completely transformed into a versatile clinic room designed to enhance our rehabilitation services.

At STEPS, we are dedicated to providing comprehensive care by offering all therapies and resources under one roof, continually enhancing them to ensure the best possible rehabilitation outcomes for our clients.

The clinic room is equipped to support a wide range of rehabilitation needs and includes a consultation area with a plinth, wall bar, and plenty of space for a  wheelchair. It also features a kitchen area with a splinting bath, which is integral to our bespoke orthotic services, provided in collaboration with STEPS Prosthetics.

Splinting Services

A key function of the new clinic room is to facilitate splinting services. This dedicated space allows our team to assess and create individualised orthotics on-site, ensuring clients receive their devices swiftly, with prompt adjustments that minimise disruptions to their rehabilitation programmes.

Exoskeleton Assessments

The clinic room will also be used for exoskeleton consultations and assessments. STEPS Rehabilitation is proud to be an assessment centre for cutting-edge exoskeleton technology, including the ReWalk™ ReStore and ExoAtlet systems. These robotic suits are designed to assist individuals with spinal cord injuries, supporting both functional mobility and active-based therapy. Exoskeletons offer transformative physiological and psychological benefits, such as improved bowel function, spasticity management, and enhanced bone health, while empowering clients by enabling them to stand and move at eye level. This technology can play a crucial role in the rehabilitation process, helping suitable clients develop new neurological pathways and work towards restoring independent walking.

In partnership with Stephen Ruffle at Thor Assistive Technologies, STEPS provides access to this incredible technology as part of our comprehensive rehabilitation services.

Consultant-Led Botulinum Toxin Clinics

In addition to splinting and exoskeleton assessments, the clinic room will be utilised for consultant-led clinics offering Botulinum Toxin injections. These injections are used to manage a range of conditions, benefiting both our residential clients and outpatients. Botulinum Toxin therapy is a crucial element in managing spasticity and other neurological conditions, significantly contributing to our clients' overall treatment plans.

The opening of this new clinic room represents the latest in a series of significant enhancements to the facility, therapies, and services provided by STEPS Rehabilitation, ensuring the best possible rehabilitation experience for our clients and their families.
