STEPS Rehabilitation is proud to announce its double win at the prestigious Allica Bank Great British Entrepreneur Awards, often referred to as “The Grammys for Entrepreneurship.” Now in its 12th year, the awards celebrate businesses and individuals who drive innovation, create jobs, and shape the UK economy.

This year, STEPS Rehabilitation was successful in two categories, the Technology Entrepreneur of the Year Award, for its pioneering approach to neurological rehabilitation, and The Randal Foundation Entrepreneur of the Year Award, which honours ventures that save lives, improve life chances, and positively impact communities.

Established in 2017 by Ray Boulger and his daughters, Toria Chan and Jules Shiel-Boulger, STEPS Rehabilitation in Sheffield is a leader in intensive residential neurorehabilitation. The purpose-built facility specialises in delivering rehabilitation programmes to individuals recovering from brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, traumatic amputations, and complex trauma.

STEPS’ success in the Technology category reflects its unique approach to combining traditional rehabilitation therapies with cutting-edge robotic and virtual reality technologies. By offering these services under one roof, STEPS has set new benchmarks in neurological care, enabling clients to regain independence and improve their quality of life.

The Randal Foundation Entrepreneur of the Year Award is a brand-new and highly significant category that honours entrepreneurs who achieve not only commercial success but also create a powerful social impact. Sponsored by the Randal Foundation, this award celebrates businesses like STEPS Rehabilitation that embody the foundation's mission—saving lives, improving life chances, and uplifting communities. We are incredibly proud to receive this recognition.

The Randal Foundation itself works to fulfil the vision of its founders, Dr Nik and Moni Kotecha, by saving and significantly improving the lives of 1 million people in the UK and globally. Through partnerships with inspirational organisations, the foundation delivers essential funding and support to create opportunity and foster hope for those most in need.

At STEPS, this nomination reflects our unwavering commitment to changing lives through individualised rehabilitation programmes, specialist nursing care, and support and education for families and loved ones affected by catastrophic injuries and serious illness.

In addition to these awards, Ray Boulger, STEPS’ Founder and Chairman, was shortlisted as one of just eight national finalists for the Unretired Award, which celebrates individuals making remarkable contributions post-retirement age. Ray’s exceptional financial expertise and unwavering support has been instrumental in securing funding and driving STEPS’ growth, transforming it into an internationally recognised centre of excellence.

Looking to the future, STEPS remains committed to innovation, expanding its suite of robotic rehabilitation equipment and forging groundbreaking research partnerships. Its collaboration with STEPS Prosthetics makes it one of only two private clinics in the UK to offer residential amputee and orthotic rehabilitation services.

These awards are a testament to the dedication, innovation, and care at the heart of STEPS Rehabilitation.
