Ray is the business bedrock of STEPS, taking on a Finance and Business Director functions. Having spent all of his working life in financial services starting in accounting and stockbroking, he is currently Senior Technical Manager for John Charcol, the UK’s leading and original independent mortgage adviser, where he has worked since 1989.
He lends his vast experience not only of economic matters, strategy and finance, but extensive PR work with broadcast and print journalists, including frequent TV and radio interviews for BBC, Sky, ITN, Channel 4 and LBC and has his own blog. Ray is on the Board of the Association of Mortgage Intermediaries (AMI), having been a founder member in 2003.
Ray and his wife, Lana, married in 1968 and have 4 children, including Jules and Toria, and 10 grandchildren.
