Nurse Associate

Location: Alexander House, 30 Troutbeck Road, Sheffield S7 2QA
Hours of work: 37.5 hours
Purpose of the role:
As a Nurse Associate at STEPS you will be ensuring that our clients receive high-quality, holistic nursing care throughout their journey with us. You will work as a key member of the inter-disciplinary team to support our clients, respecting their privacy and dignity and promoting independence. While you are carrying out your duties you will be aligned with STEPS values and behaviours at all times.

You are joining a professional, compassionate, and highly skilled group of nurses and nurse associates who are dedicated to delivering safe, person‑centred care and supporting our clients throughout their rehabilitation journey.
As part of the nursing team, you will play a vital role in maintaining clinical excellence, promoting independence, and ensuring the wellbeing of every individual in our care. You’ll work closely with Rehabilitation Assistants, and the rest of the interdisciplinary team to ensure each client receives the highest standard of nursing support tailored to their unique needs.
Specific responsibilities

- Delivering high standards of care to individuals and groups of clients under indirect supervision from the registered nurse and after appropriate delegation, who takes overall accountability and will sign off as agreed.
- Assess and monitor the client’s skin integrity and to report and document immediately any changes or concerns in their condition.
- Demonstrate initiative and the ability to recognise/identify changes in a client’s condition/treatment and seek advice and expertise from registered practitioners in accordance with STEPS policy.
- Delivery of high quality, compassionate care whilst undertaking specific clinical and care tasks under the direction of a registered nurse (or other registered care professional dependent) with a focus on promoting good health and independence
- To provide wound care, dressings and other clinical tasks as required
- To perform and record clinical observations such as blood pressure, temperature, respirations and pulse
- To administer medications and treatment as prescribed, monitor effects and report under the direction of the Nursing team.
