Alison joined the STEPS wellbeing team in March 2022 having previously worked as a self-employed Massage therapist for 20 years. She has worked extensively with trauma injuries, particularly to the head and neck.
During her career, Alison has also supported many people in their competitive sporting careers. This involved treating clients at events and also supporting retired athletes.
Alison has personal experience with disabilities due to having a son with Mitochondrial Disease, this gives her an understanding of what it is like caring for a loved one with life-changing disabilities. Through this, she has also gained knowledge of the EHCP process, SEND Law and the home adaptations process.
Alison hopes to bring her wealth of knowledge and understanding to STEPS, empowering clients on their rehabilitation journey.
Previous to Alison’s Massage therapy career she was a qualified Dental Nurse trained in sedation, orthodontics and oral health. This involved working in both the NHS and the private sector.
When not at STEPS Alison enjoys travelling the world and being outdoors with her family.
