Maria began her career in the retail and hospitality sectors, where she developed strong communication skills and a genuine passion for working with people. In 2019, she graduated from the University of Chester with a BA in Theology and Biblical Studies, further strengthening her understanding of people, their values, and the importance of compassionate support.
Throughout her career, Maria has been committed to helping others. From volunteering on missionary trips to The Gambia and other countries to supporting patients at Weston Park Hospital, she has always focused on understanding what matters most to each individual and helping them achieve their goals.
Inspired by this person-centred approach, Maria pursued a career in Occupational Therapy. She is passionate about empowering people to maximise their independence and rebuild confidence. Maria enjoys developing positive therapeutic relationships and is dedicated to delivering compassionate, high-quality care as part of the team at Steps Rehabilitation Sheffield.
Outside of work, Maria enjoys spending time with family and friends, and admits that chocolate is her biggest weakness.
