Role Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to work alongside the referrals and admissions lead supporting and coordinating referrals, assessments and admissions to STEPS. 

This is a fast paced dynamic role requiring excellent problem solving, prioritising and specialist clinical reasoning skills. 

This role is open to Social Workers, Nurses and AHP’s. It is an ideal opportunity to work in a unique award winning specialist rehabilitation facility with access to world leading technology, exciting research and development opportunities.

Working closely with the interdisciplinary team throughout a client’s rehabilitation journey to ensure that the needs of the client are met in full. The ideal candidate will build and maintain professional relationships with a variety of funders including private, medico-legal and NHS.

Specific Responsibilities

Process client enquiries

Support the referrer through the referral process as appropriate

Once referral is processed, assess potential clients and complete detailed pre-admission reports in accordance with the admissions pathway

To be the key point of contact when managing any referrals 

Advice around funding options for rehabilitation

Support business development and reputation

Lead tours of STEPS and have a detailed knowledge of the service we provide

Actively contribute to service development, including attendance at relevant meetings and actively contributing to in-house training sessions

Person Specification

Essential

  • Recognised clinical / healthcare qualification at degree level 
  • Expertise or a strong background in Neurological Rehabilitation
  • Qualification or short courses in staff management and supervision
  • IT qualification or experience in Microsoft Office packages particularly Microsoft Excel
  • Experience of working as part of an interdisciplinary team
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Maintaining detailed electronic records
  • Ability to develop operational procedures and practices to realise strategic aims and objectives
  • Delivery of excellent customer service
  • Able to lead, motivate and engage staff
  • Develop a culture of common goals and excellent service provision
  • Extensive experience in managing a complex caseload
  • Experience of working within governance frameworks e.g. clinical systems / data management / complaints and untoward incidents
  • Experience and working knowledge of the Data Protection Act
  • Experience of researching, drafting and developing policies and procedures
  • Experience of managing and leading audit functions
  • Experience of clinical report writing
  • Full drivers licence.

Desirable

  • Experience working with clients with complex trauma injuries, brain injuries, spinal cord injuries and traumatic amputations 
  • Post graduate qualifications in relevant areas of rehabilitation
  • Experience working as a case manager or similar
  • Experience of communicating and interacting with multi agencies to coordinate complex rehabilitation packages
  • Experience of working in the private healthcare sector
