STEPS Rehabilitation continues to redefine the future of neurological rehabilitation with the addition of the Bioness L300 Go device – an innovative device designed to support individuals living with foot drop,  whether due to neurological conditions or complex orthopaedic and poly-trauma related injuries.

This state-of-the-art device uses functional electrical stimulation (FES), with integrated proprietary 3D motion detection, to aid muscle activation and improve movement. It benefits individuals with conditions such as stroke, multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy, traumatic brain injury, incomplete spinal cord injury, as well as those experiencing muscle weakness or foot drop following injury or surgery. The Bioness L300 Go offers users greater levels of independence and improved quality of life by improving gait, reducing the risk of falls, and serving as a potential alternative to an ankle foot orthosis (AFO).

As part of the introduction of the Bioness into the expanding repertoire of rehabilitation technology at STEPS Rehabilitation, Jamie Storey and Scott Pearson have been trained to assess individuals for suitability and can set up clients with the device for trial use during therapy sessions at STEPS.

The L300 Go features include:

  • Wireless, comfortable lower cuff design
  • 3D motion detection with a learning algorithm that adapts to the individuals requirements during walking
  • No gait sensor required – can be used barefoot
  • Quick to apply and remove
  • A peripheral stimulator to help with stability around the knee
  • Designed to support faster, longer, and more confident walking
