For World Sleep Day 2023, Jessika Sheppy, Solution Focussed Hypnotherapist at STEPS Rehabilitation explains why sleep is an important factor in the recovery process.
Sleep is an essential function so getting a good night's sleep is vitally important to the clients at STEPS Rehabilitation.
As well helping you feel refreshed and ready for rehabilitation, the body undergoes critical repair processes at night which help heal wounds, fight illness and recover from the stresses of day to day life. Adequate amounts of sleep has been convincingly tied to a heathier body both inside and out. Without enough sleep the brain can't function properly impairing ability to concentrate and focus, think clearly and process memories which are all crucial to client's progress.
When a client is struggling to sleep you can always see the knock on affects this has on their daily routine, emotional state and engagement with sessions. As a team we continue to help support clients to get healthy routines around sleep and promote this alongside all of our other therapies.
