For more than nine years, STEPS has delivered specialist residential rehabilitation for people recovering from life-changing injuries and illnesses, including complex brain injury, spinal cord injury, stroke, amputation and major trauma. From our purpose-built facility in Sheffield, we have supported more than 650 people on their rehabilitation journeys.

At the heart of STEPS is a highly personalised, interdisciplinary approach. Specialist nursing, consultant medical care, hydrotherapy and a wide range of therapies are delivered under one roof, supported by an exceptional staff-to-client ratio and advanced rehabilitation technology. In 2026, we became the first residential rehabilitation provider in the UK to introduce the ONWARD ARC-EX® spinal rehabilitation system, and our residential amputee rehabilitation programme, delivered in partnership with STEPS Prosthetics, offers a seamless pathway from rehabilitation to prosthetic provision.

We place clients and their families at the centre of everything we do, from dedicated family accommodation to our Transitional Living Unit, which helps clients prepare for life at home. Through initiatives such as STEPS Inclusive Design, the STEPS Rehabilitation Foundation and our partnership with Horatio's Garden Sheffield & East, we are also committed to making a positive difference in the wider community.
