Dr Ed Hudson suffered a life-changing spinal cord injury when he was knocked off his bike by a motorist in Nottingham in February 2018.

Although the collision was low-impact, Ed sustained a fractured and dislocated neck (C4/5), which required extensive surgery.

He transferred to STEPS in September 2018 for nine months of intensive rehabilitation.

On 7 October 2023, Ed married his partner, Izzy, at Willow Marsh Farm in Leicestershire. With the support of STEPS’ Lead Physiotherapist, Jamie Storey, Ed walked down the aisle using an ExoAtlet exoskeleton.

Now in their fully accessible 'forever home', they welcomed baby Tabitha into the world at the end of 2024.
